The Pagalan Chronicles Origins - Next Book
Framework in place. Detailed work expected to start in the spring of 2026 and competed by the end of the year.
The next instalment of The Pagalan Chronicles Origins moves into a far quieter, more dangerous era of Pagalan’s history. An age not of arrival, but of aftermath.
The period spans from one thousand years after the Patronese first burrowed into Denesthear’s frozen crust. The great subterranean cities are the Patronese refuse for the next two thousand years. The ancient portal discovered in Tramstell remains sealed, its purpose half-understood, its origins feared. What was once unity has become divergence.
Pagalan itself is changing. The deep volcanic activity brought about by the great catastrophe never truly settled. Over centuries, fissures widened. Plumes of ash darkened the skies. Gases released from relentless tectonic upheaval began reshaping the atmosphere. The long, punishing ice age that defined Denesthear’s early centuries gradually loosens its grip. Glaciers retreat. Rivers carve new paths. Entire coastlines shift. The world softens, but not gently.
Civilizations rise cautiously on the surface outside of Denesthear as the climate warms
It is within this volatile, transitional age that the bloodline leading to Mandrake Martelismore the First emerges.
Mandrake’s era is not one of technological supremacy, but of consolidation. He is born into a fractured Denesthear, where surface settlements and deep remnants coexist uneasily. The climate is temperate in regions once entombed in ice, yet unstable. Storm belts rage unpredictably. Volcanic winters punctuate decades of warming. The old resonance structures occasionally awaken, misunderstood and mistrusted.
The novel explores:
The slow transformation of Pagalan from glacial exile to habitable world.
The sociopolitical splintering of Patronese descendants.
The reinterpretation of ancient technology as myth, relic, or divine sign.
The quiet re-emergence of the portal network as tectonic shifts expose buried systems.
The formation of the Martelismore lineage as a stabilising force in a world relearning itself.
By the time Mandrake Martelismore the First rises to prominence in Denesthear, Pagalan is no longer the frozen refuge of Jentry Camberlain’’s generation. It is a warming, restless planet shaped by fire beneath and memory above.
This is the bridge era.
The long thaw.
The reshaping.
The centuries where myth hardens into bloodline. And where the foundations of Morganuke’s future are quietly, irrevocably laid.

The Pagalan Chronicles – Series 2
Framework in place. Detailed work TBD
Series 2 begins in the quiet aftermath of war.
Having survived the revelations of Denesthear and the shifting loyalties of the Patronese, Morganuke and Melinor attempt something far more fragile than battle. They try to build a life together beyond the weight of destiny, away from the expectations of the Patronese community and the shadow of ancient bloodlines.
But peace does not come easily.
As Denesthear stirs once more and the ancient gates begin to awaken, old forces re-align in ways neither of them can ignore. The past refuses to remain buried. The high house of Martilismore casts a longer shadow than Morganuke ever wished to claim, and Melinor finds herself drawn into a legacy that will not let either of them simply live quietly.
Series 2 explores what happens after the “chosen” moment.
When love, loyalty, and identity are tested not by discovery, but by responsibility. It is more personal. More intimate.
And in many ways, more dangerous.Because this time, the war is not just about kingdoms.
It is about whether Morganuke and Melinor can hold onto each other while the world reshapes itself around them.Description goes here
